iClone Previews . . .
I’ve posted 4 PREVIEWS on Vimeo that show the progress made in creating “The Bell Dimension”. Of course, creating these “mini” movies started several years ago as I was learning how to use iClone 2 and let me tell you I do not know how many times I crashed my PC and the only saving […]

2D challenge . . . with 3D
I decided to dabble in using live-action video, i.e, me, in combination with iClone 7 and PopVideo. I had bought a green screen kit from B&H long ago and I tried it on a studio shoot, but the lighting was too dim to get a clean chroma key. I tried this in Resolve and it […]

Site renewed as videos moving to Vimeo . . .
Here’s an IRay pic rendered at 100/180 as I work at reducing the scene load to speed up renders. This scene is a paltry 97Mb and consists of 2 planes, i.e., sky and temple with 5 royal tents that are 3D with physics applied. It also includes the desert sand floor. 2103 . . . […]

PREVIEW is ready!
I finally produced a decent PREVIEW that will be submitted to the animation festivals once a few quirks are worked out. Theses are mostly motion issues with the characters as they are either “canned” or BVH motion files with some manual edits included. Some not so pretty. :o) iClone is a quirky program to say […]

ANIMATIC is done . . .
Finally succeeded in generating a good ANIMATIC. Of course it needs fixes, but it is pretty much there. This expands on the first festival submission and it is approximately 12 mins or so. This is under review and will be posted soon if there are no major issues with the edit. 1202 . . . […]

2D from 3D . . .
As I work on my movie, I am liking CTA 4 more and more. Why? One of the advantages of doing 2D animation is that you are no longer concerned with the 3D as much and can concentrate on what needs to be rendered as you compose the scene in CTA 4. After watching a […]

Storyboard updated . . .
I updated the Storyboard page with a simplified scene of just the train that went from 3 separate mp4 to one: 3011 . . . ds

A CTA 4 2Mb video w lip sync . . . What?
Here’s a much smaller sample from iClone 7 to CTA 4 video. iClone Project size is 153Mb while CTA 4 Project size is 2.85Mb. CTA 4 MP4 was run through ShotCut generating a tiny 2Mb MP4 with lip sync. That’s astounding! The voice over track was not edited prior to being used in this demonstration. […]

Finally imported into CTA 4 . . .
As I mentioned in previous post, I was processing images rendered at 720×480 as my PC would crash if I up the size. I’ll have to fiddle with those rendering settings to see if I can reduce the size of the image a bit more. Here is the human I was waiting on and it […]

Storyborder . . .
So I’ve been working away in iClone 7 creating 3 rather large scenes, i.e., 3.6 & 1.5 Gb respectively. The problem is the IRay render plug-in I bought to render fabulous scenes is taking too many resources on my tiny 6GB Nvidia graphics card. What is sad is that when you look at the resources […]

Incredibly easy Lip Sync in CTA 4!
I was just messing about with CTA 4 to create a morph-based character from an image. The pins on the first attempt did not control the movement as much as I want it to and, in fact, made it look stupid, frankly. Three Bones were created for the image: chest, neck and head, but they […]
